my girlfriend's SRS (airbag) light (on her 2001 type s) has come on for a couple weeks now. she hasn't gotten into an accident or anything like that. does any of you know what happened, and how to turn off the light? has this happened to any of you? i just don't want to go to the dealer and get ripped off, so that they can turn it off. thanks for any input!

 

It might be the occupant sensor. I had the same problem and they replaced free under warrenty.

 

Yup, me too. Specifically, it was the OPDS (Occupant Position Detection System). Unfortunately, I'm still waiting for the part to come in. My dashboard has been looking like something from Apollo 13 for the last three weeks.
