i'm debating what subs to get
i am more after sq, i want a clean low bass note that i can REALLY feel, so what do u guys think is the best sq sub on the market??

also, i heard some people make subs that go below 20Hz, is this correct.....or is it the amp that controls that??

JL Audio subs really hold their own in every category. I believe most will back me on the fact that they are best known for SQ.

Also the human ear cannot hear below 20 Hz and most amps dont even produce that sound. Even though, you may find a sub that is "rated" to below 20 Hz, but its really pointless. Most music doesnt go much below 40 Hz.

I have 2 of the best Sq subs for sale in the black market.

Image Dynamics 12" IDMAX and Diamond Audio 10" TDX. Check the market if interested.

but if it goes below 20Hz, doesn't that mean that u'll feel it a lot more?? i'm not lookinig for something below 20Hz, but the closer i get to that number, doesn't it mean that it will be a lot more smoother, cuz its a lot more feeling as compared to hearing.....mabye i'm totally off, i don't konw.....i am a rook at this stuff, i'll admit

x2, i'll check it out

not really the correct thinking. most subs used in clubs are rated to like 35 or maybe 40 Hz....cause thats all you need for music. Dont worry about that spec when you are looking for a sub...best thing would be to listen to quite a few and see what you like.

JLs have good subs, i personally went with the Xtant....TDX, IDMAX, are all great sounding subs as well...

but more than subs, i think the amp is just as important towards SQ. A few suggestions are Zapco, ARC, Brax, Helix

hmm, i'm thinking i'm gonna go w/ jl w6's, cuz they give good bump.....don't know if its worth the extra $$ for w7, cuz i've never found a shop that had them hooked up to let me hear

brian, i know amps are important, and the amps u listed are awsome, but way out of my league....mabye the zapco reference series, or arc audio i could get, but are they worth the $$ or are they more about the name than quality??? once again, i just can't find a shop that has these hooked up to spekaers to let me compare....which makes it hard to distinguish, which is y i gotta ask u guys ur opinions.
o, and of course after the watttage and stuff to make sure its compatible w/ my speakers, is the next most important thing when choosing an amp the total harmonic distortion??? because this is the impression i am under

I used to have an Infinity Perfect 10" and I think it played down to 18hz. I know the human ear can't hear below 20hz, but you still feel it. My 12L7 doesn't play nearly as low as the Perfect did, but the L7 hits a lot harder. Both in sealed boxes.

The W6V2 is a great choice. Good subs all the way around. Your bass amp is not as critical as your component amp. Because it just has to reproduce a certain range of low frequency, you can get away with lesser amps. I would get the most powerful amp you can for the subs you are looking at, that is a good reputable brand. Kicker, Rockford, MTX, Memphis and JBL make some of the best bang for buck amps.
