speaker size replacement?

speaker size replacement?
Can I replace my 6.5 for 7 without cutting into the medal of my door? Will speaker rings do the trick?

And since there is no official dimension for 6.5, OR 7", what speaker would help too.

A Dyne MW160GT is different as a 7" from an eD7000.
