speaker ohms

Hey I've searched around and read that the 99 TL has 4ohms speakers. I just took my car into a car audio place to have my stereo installed and the guy said hes positive that the bose speakers are 2ohms speakers?

Can any clear this up for me?

If the dude works for a shop, he should have a DMM. Tell him to quit being a stuborn bitch and check the speaker with the DMM to find out who's right.

well that sucks. Since there 2ohms then I have to pay for some special wire to connect the speakers to the HU, just costing me more money....

If I am reading one of the above posts correctly, then the factory BOSE speakers are 2 ohm. Cant you just replace them with 2 ohm aftermarket speakers for better sound? Infinity makes what appears to be a nice component set....

You can replace it at any ohms you want. It's just how you wire it up.
