i installed my z6"s @ 1 year ago. The tweeters installed in the stock positions with just a little cutting. The 6.5" woofers/mid speakers required that I cut the existing speaker spacer to properly mount them in the doors. It was not very hard to do. If you have more questions pm me. I will respond.

Fyud,
Thank you very much for your help, and just one more question, where did you install the crossover? I am thinking of cutting and modifying my doors, but I don't know how to do it yet. The other option is installed them in the trunk. What do you think?
thanks again

why "cut and modify"? while you have the stock speakers out, you should be able to feel around and notice where there is some space in the lower front portions of the door where nothing gets in the way. then, you have some options: 1) double sided tape 2) use the x-over as a template, mark the holes where the screws would go, and drill (with the thought of bolting the x-overs as opposed to screwing them in) 3) same template and get a long tie-wrap and snug that sucker up!

I put the crossovers in the bottom of the door. If you remove the door panels and look inside the door you will see plenty of space.
i used velcro to secure the xovers.
