speaker change
i have a 96 2.5TL and i am interested in changing just the rear deck speakers for now. i have stock radio. the rears are 6x9, would 6.5 inchers with a bracket be better or are 6x9 a better option...
also as a side note what are your rections by amping the rear decks with everything else stock
thanks...

I had 6x9's in my 99 Accord. I bought Infinity Reference and amped them with a 35 watt per 4 channel Premier (Pionere) amp that I'd had for ten years in various cars. The second channels (right and left) were bridged into a 10 inch boston accoustic ref sub. Cheap, cheap, cheap but MAN it rocked! When I got it installed, I was surprised by the improvement it gave. The amp will exponentially improve the speaker performance and the rear speakers reflect off the rear window nicely. I recommend a small sub, just enough to bring up the bottom end. In my experience, 6x9 have better overall performance in rear decks. That is assuming you are not talking about super high end components... Get a four channel amp with built in crossovers and a sub. send the highs to the rear speakers and lows to the sub. The fronts will just help to bring the soundstage forward but most of the sound will be behind you. While it won't win competitions, you'll have a fat assed grin on your face all the time for very little cash
