OK so I bought my 2001 CL-S used and it came with two radio codes...I didn't think anything of it b/c I didn't know anything about the car. So I tried to put a cd into my 6-disc changer and the little door wouldn't open and the screen read "Er-E1."
So I take it to Acura and they said my cd changer is jammed and it won't work... somethign about the gears.
A week later I say f*** it and take the radio out and put an in-dash Alpine monitor and DVD player in.
I recently bought another radio off some guy and he promised that the cd player worked perfectly in his car and that he took it out right after buying the car. If it didn't work for me he said he'd give me my money back...
Long story short I installed it and the same message comes up. No CD player.
Is there something wrong with my car????????? or is it the radio? I'm assuming that since my car came with two radio codes, they switched out the radios before. WTF?

 

Was the car not covered under warranty when the radio went? Should be a warranty item. If you were able to turn the radio on then it's not a problem with the radio codes. If it was you wouldn't be able to even turn on the radio. If the car came with 2 radio codes then it's likely a replacement radio was installed for whatever reason.

 

The car is not covered by a warranty anymore.... And yes it turns on so I know it;s not the code... I was just thinking it could be a problem with the connection or with my car. I don't know. Whatever. Thanks!
