speaker buzzing: advice?

I am getting brief bursts of static like Morse code from my driver side speaker.

It happens both when using CD and when the radio is on. There is no apparent
connection to any outside events (going over bumps or under power lines for
example).

Has anybody had this happen to them or does anybody have any advice about
it?

Thanks.

No. 99% of the time the sound is as clear as it
has ever been (at least as far as what is left
of my ears can tell). There are just these
sharp bursts of noise every so often as if there
were some kind of intereference.

If you turn down the bass, does the sharp burst noise decrease?

Wierd but true

I had the same problem but the noise only happened when my car was actually off. I had taken it to the dealership to have a couple of problems looked at including the door lock switch. Well after "fixing" the door lock switch ( it still is not working on the driverside ) I finally got it back from the dealer and noticed my left speakers kept fading in an out and finally they stopped working altogethor. So of course I was like WTF! Then when I would turn off my car and close the door I would get a loud noise coming only from the driver's side speakers. So I took my door panel apart and found a pinched wire from the tweeter. I suppose it was making contact with the metal on the door, put some electrical tape on it and moved it out of the way and no noise and the left speakers work. I guess it happened at the dealership when they took my door panel off originally to fix the switch.
