Southbound: Need your e-mail address!!

My e-mail is jmackenzie3@shaw.ca

I have a gift for you...

I created a Visio file with before and after schematics, and pasted the photo of the mod that Y2KWDPTL took. It should be an all-in-one-page complete instruction for doing both your mods.

It's in Visio, JPG and Adobe PDF formats so EVERYONE with a computer will be able to display and print it.

I don't have posting or personal messaging capability here, so we'll have to do this by e-mail. Once you confirm that I drew everything correctly you can post it up here for all to download and follow.

Maybe we can convince the moderator to turn this subject into a sticky and provide links for everyone to download the files themselves......nudge nudge wink wink.....

Sask,
long time no see (or read)...

Sounds like you have put together a nice tidy package of this popular cheap and easy upgrade.

I don't happen to have access to post images either. I had Iggy help me to post the scope photos that were in the "Terminator mod... proof of performance" thread. He has the capability to post pics, etc.

I'll try to contact you from work this week. I have my reasons for keeping my email address sacred. Because of abusers, I don't give my email address out lightly. But I'll try to contact you from work, because of all the work that you have done to help document this mod. Egilsrud has also been trying to write up some simple instructions and help to create a sticky as well. My posts tend to run TOOOOOOOO long for the average reader... So your guys versions are probably more concise and better for the layman. Hopefully we can get someone like Iggy to help us post the package once it's complete...???

Thanks for all of your help! I think the scope photos should also be added to the sticky. It goes a long way in convincing skeptics.

Southbound

Sounds good. I have the software tools, and part of my job is writing standard manufacturing procedures for the satellite and military communications company I work for. It really didn't take long to slap together. I just had some more time to kill, so I added a full blown step by step procedure.

I look forward to your e-mail, and we can lobby the moderator to sticky this thing. Considering the hundreds of messages surrounding this subject it shouldn't be much of a hard sell...

Brown Bread kicks ass....the thing I like about it most is how easy it is to apply, not like dynamat at all (which gets brittle when it gets cold and you can peel it off months later quite easily)

Hey... not trying to steal anybody's thunder here. Full credit to you for your effort. Maybe together we can all apply some pressure... From what I understand all the critera for a sticky are here:

1. Proof that the process works (6328 messages supporting this statement)
2. Large scale desire to do it (6328 messages stating that they have done it)
3. Proof that the process won't cost you first born child (see any of the 6328 messages)
4. Constant presence of the author to support the process (3164 replies from Southbound to the 3164 messages stating that someone was about to try it)

If for no other reason, turn this into a sticky to save Southbound from having to

1. replace his keyboard every three months. How many times has he taken the half-hour to type out the exact process???
2. Help get him off the arthritis medication he has to take because he has suffered chronic finger-lock from 3164 half-hour typing sessions...

PS...I'm a first generation guy myself. The terminator mod works on EVERY SPEAKER. Car, home, everywhere... (OK I doubt it would do much to the 3 inch speaker inside your computer case)

Well, I'm a bit delinquent on the Polk speaker install instructions! Sorry for not living up to my commitment. Unfortunately, I probably won't be able to spend any time on them before Xmas - too many work/family obligations. I'll have some time after Dec. 25th, but if someone wants to jump in before then, be my guest :-)

How about you send it to me (check PM for email) and I will sticky this post and host the file as well so everyone can see it (thats the whole idea of the forum).

Southbound and I had a few conversations via traditional e-mail, and I sent the full package to him each time. He has signed off on this version, as I'm sure he'll reply the next time he's on the board.

There's no way I would have asked you to post anything before getting his full permission. These are his designs. He did all the work in developing them. (All I did was make the drawing up, and do the file conversions)
