I am thinking about purchasing a JL 300/4 amplifier on Ebay for about $360 to power a set of MB Quart DSD-216 (6.5") for the front and DTC-169 (6X9) for the rear. An Infinity Basslink as the sub. I am keeping the stock radio. What do you guys think of this setup?

 

I have JL 300/4 powering MB Quart DSD216 componet set and JBL GTO930 for rear fill. With stock HU, you will hear the improment (but not as good as aftermarket HU), however, there maybe a alternator whining noise. With aftermarket HU, it rocks. I know because I have both in my car and everyone who sat in my car noticed the big difference, except my gf

 

Does anyone know of any good shops in the San Antonio/Austin area who would do a good custom job of replacing the stock HU with an aftermarket Alpine unit. I want a faceplate made that will match the dash and look smooth. The shops I've talked to really don't seem interested. If its not in their kit book, they don't want to mess with it. Appreciate any help.

 

The installer working on my new set-up was told that a dash kit was going to be available for the ACURA CL's this week.

So, anyway, he got around that by using a 'hybrid' kit that he made from a Lexus & a Honda kit. The guy did a really nice job.

The deck is the Pioneer Premier '940.'

I hope that he finishes the install by the end of tomorrow or (very) early on Sat. morn.
