Sorry ahead of time (another Ipod and Alpine question)

I have an Alpine CDM-9821

I can't seem to find info on what the ALpine Ipod adapter will support. Anyone know if mine will work?

or is this my only option?

From www.alpine1.com:

The KCA-420i can be added to any 2004 Alpine Ai-NET head unit.

The KCA-420i is compatible with any iPod , iPod Photo and iPod mini with dock conector and iPod Update 2004-04-28.
