Sony Xplod vs Alpine ?

im talking about Decks here..
i installed 180W Alpine front door speakers recently, and when i bought my car, it had a Sony Xplod 52Wx4 deck already installed. Im thinking about purchasing an Alpine deck to replace the Sony. i know Alpine is better quality than Sony with speakers..but would a deck make a difference?

thanks

Well, probably not. But the potential for sound quality may be better, depending on the unit. Those with better controls, for instance, would potentially give you a chance to EQ and time align the speakers to sound better.

FYI, those wattage numbers are just not happening. Almost every head unit without an external amp will deliver ~15W per channel before audible clipping, be it Sony or Alpine or other. So, I may suggest that if you like the Sony HU aesthetically, and you like the features it contains, why not spend that upgrade money on an amp instead?

Took the words right out of my mouth. I personally love alpine hu's. I was a fan of sony back in the day especially the ones with the flip face where front is all graphics no buttons.
