Looks good. How did you mount the amp in the corner of the trunk?

No more scratches thanks to the dumbass who walked on my car and had to pay to have it repainted.

there is a piece of partical board that i have yet to cover with carpet that you can see behind the amp. The amp is screwed in to it and the partical board is screwed into small squares of partical board behind the trunk lining. The lining is strong enough to hold it up.

Looks rather ghetto with the carpet half-cylinder around the Sub. But as long as it sounds good and works for you thats wut matters

I'm not a big sony fan, when it ocmes to car audio (besides head units) If it sounds good, then no complaints. You should trim the particle board, so it doesnt show.

Before I had a band-pass box. It was big, heavy and slid around in the trunk. The bass sounded good but with the tube I get louder, deeper sound. In my option it is a more efficiet use of the equipment I have. (760 watt amp and "10 Sub). The band-pass box is what the guys at the audio shop sold me with the system. I just changed it to this tube i got from a friend for $10 just to try it (and I like it better). If you guys have any other ideas for better inclosures im open to them. What do you think about another tube (exactly the same, sharing the amp) on the opposite side of the trunk for a symetirical look?

Actually most Sony subs should have a sealed box enclosure according to Crutchfield. I intend to put a complete Sony system, but I am having trouble with the install. Mainly how to run my 4 gauge power cable through the fire wall. Any suggestions?

to run power through the firewall looked a little to hard for me so i drove over to sound advice and had them run the power to the trunk for me

SliverKnight and StuckNSS (i think that's who he is) have good descriptions on how to run the wire through the firewall. there are two visible rubber grommets on the drivers side. if you look in the engine bay, on the drivers side, at the top wall, there will be one rubber grommet....then directly under that....somewhat hidden, you'll see another one, about the size of a dollar coin. that's where i ran my 4 gauge cable. let me tell you, running a 4 gauge cable through that grommet was a pain. see, i had an 8 gauge running through that grommet at first since i was powering only one sub. but i intend on adding a second amp ( tried but failed so far). so what i did was i taped the 4 gauge wire to the 8 gauge end inside the passenger cabin. then started pulling the 8 gauge from inside the engine bay. made things a little easier for me.

Icy CL, thanks for the info. I'll try that this weekend. I thought that had to be what everyone was talking about, but the firewall insulation is in the way I couldn't really see it.
