Some Qs for the PROs

Two quick questions.

When trying to match a custom piece with a dash - specifically a plastic piece - in an attempt to make it look as OEM as possible, it there a trick, or possibly a different set of paints (an a trick)? I'm am trying to match a generic ABS sheet to the MP3 Adapter Kit of the TSX. The console is black, but not matte black, there are flecks of gray (silver?, but nonmetallic), gives the appearance of texture but is smooth to the touch.

When running new speaker wire to the doors, if you encounter a plastic plug that prohibits you from just sliding a cable around it, how do you reroute the wire?

Most paint stores sell paint to match the interior, usually to be sprayed thru a gun. A Dupont store should have it, if not as long as the piece you want to match is big enough they have a machine that takes a picture and tells them what to mix. Also NAPA sells them, as for a TSX I don't know, but we have bought interior paint from them before.

I'm looking to paint a piece of plastic to match another. I get it, if it were looking for a wall paint and you brought in a swatch of something you wanted a match for, they'll mix it up, but I really don't see how this would apply here - maybe I need to see the machine in process.

Take out the storage bin and bring it in the store. Hopefully someone there can help you match it.

Yeah, not a problem as the bin is out, but I just envision hearing "well it wont match perfect", meaning not at all, then I show them the bin, then confusion, and I'll have to explain the whole thing again, finally they get ready to do it, and it will be like, "wait here, this is plastic, our paints don't work on plastic. didn't cha know can't paint plastic, boy?" The I walk out bin in hand wondering were I can find someone who knows what they're talking about...
