Simple sub install for CL

Simple sub install for CL
I need to get some information on a simple single sub (10" or 12") install into my CL trunk. I don't need anything to set off car alarms, just something so I can feel in the back of my seat, and give me some low end where the stock speakers really lack. I want to use the stock head unit and speakers. I have an older Jensen 200watt 2-channel amp that I got as a gift about 5 years ago, but never put to use. I don't know much about car audio, I've installed a headunit before and replaced stock speakers with aftermarket, but never anything quite like this. What equipment am I looking to get the best bang for my buck?

how much are you looking to spend??? i mean if you are looking for bang for the buck, and are not looking for anything more than something to help thump your ride, i would check out the local sales in your Circuit City or BestBuy... i have always been a fan of the Kicker CVR sub for bang for the buck or even something from RF...
maybe you can ask eldude, our audio vendor... he may have a few specials going that you can look into...

Sounds like a BassLink would fit your needs. I have the same needs & it's a fine addition for me. Very easy install as well. You can get a brand new one on Ebay for around $200.
All you need is 8 gauge power & ground & a fuse at the battery. Everything else is included.

Hey fuzzy, thanks for that suggestion, sounds just about what I'm looking for, at the price I'd like to spend. Any comparissons between the Basslink and Basslink II. Are there any stores that carry these in stock like Bestbuy or Circuit City? I may have to get to a car audio place in Houston sometime and check these out.

I don't know much about the BassLink II. I've had this basslink for several years & 3 CL's. Local stores should have it, but you'll overpay.
It's not booming, but gives a nice kick in the seat & is plenty loud inside ther car. It's not very accurate bass, but it gets the job done if your keeping things stock. A nice thing is it's very small so I still have 95% of my trunck space.

Been checking out these powered subs and came across the Kenwood KSC-SW1. There have been a bunch of good reviews for it on Crutchfield's website, and it seems to be even less expensive than the Basslink on eBay. Has anyone had any experience with it? It's only two 6.5" woofers compared to the Basslink 10". I would assume the Basslink has much more punch than the Kenwood.

I spent a pretty penny on my system...
They only thing you have to worry about is tapping into the stock unit so your system doesn't blow out. There are a few members that have done that.
