I wouldn't replace the stereo, maybe the speaker but I would leave the deck alone especially if you are getting Navi with the car. The Bose system is fine, plus it already has the CD changer. I added a basslink for a little more bass and I'm happy.

Get a new System

If you are a music enthusiast you will def need to get a new system. You can tell how crappy the rear speakers are just by looking at the size of the magnets in the trunk. The bose is shit. I thought it would be ok, but right when i turned it on for the first time I was like, "WTF?" Even my old man, who can barely hear, said that the bose system in my 97 Path sounds better. I jut got the car, but i have everything sitting on living room table. I just have to make some time to put them in. i have pioneer 4-ways for the back and a Infinity perfect component system for the front. I'm also have 2 Momo's that i have to build custom set up for in the trunk.

If you have the cash rip out everything...including the HU...otherwise just rip out the speakers and put in new ones with aftermarket amps...or at the very least a set of 2 ways or coaxials in the front and subs in the rear. You won't be satisfied with stock.

The stock system is fine. All it needs is alittle more BUMP! I added a integrated 10" sub and amp plus a cap to the stock system and I'm very satisfied.

WELL MR. AUSTIN519, MY STATEMENT WAS DIRECTED TO THE FELLOW WHO ASKED THE ? IN THE FIRST PLACE. I WAS JUST STATING MY OPINION AS DID YOU. PLUS IF YOU ARE DISGUSTED WITH THEM THAT MUCH, I WOULD THINK THAT WOULD OF BEEN THE FIRST MOD TO YOUR CAR. ACCORDING TO YOUR PROFILE, YOU HAVEN'T CHANGED IT YET.

No need to get upset now . I was just surprised that anyone would be happy with the stock system. As was Silverknight. If you are, congratulations, you've saved yourself a lot of money. As for my system...most people around here know I have about 300 lbs of stereo equipment sitting on my floor (if you would like to see pictures feel free to check my website out) waiting to be installed. However, since this will be a competition install, I'm not going to half-ass it, and that means waiting until college gets out so that I can invest 2 straight weeks in it . But yes, I am dying to take the stock system out.

hehehehe ... bud, no need to get upset. That's how Austin is. He loves bitching about the stock Bose system as much as I do . I can understand your POV since I beg those speed freaks in Car Talk to look at car stereo from my POV . Austin and I thought our responses were appropriate regarding to the original question "i am wondering if someone like myself who is a music enthusiast would be satisfied by the acura Sound System". Peace

Thanks man...if it ever gets done ...I swear...it's almost too much work. And I really am glad you're satisfied with the stock system...just means I can convince you to waste your money on other mods with me . Heh heh...

SilverKnight:
As always...you took the words right out of my mouth I think we need a smilie of like...the Bose logo exploding or something with blood all over it...I wouldn't have to type anymore, I'd just put :boseblows: and be done with it!

I've said before......... No Highs, No Lows.....Must be Bose.

The speakers are the whole issue. The stock speakers are CRAP. PAPER!!!!

Change them out at all cost!! (even if it takes a new Amp).

i have the 98 2.3, can i run the stock speakers, add a new HU and subs? because i had a LEGEND, with BOSE at one time, and all of the speakers were pre-amped to the HU, and u had to change EVERYTHING...in other words, stock speakers wouldnt run with the new HU, and/or stock HU wouldnt run with new speakers. Thanks.
