Does anyone know if a single DIN aftermarket kit is made for the 01-03 CL that matches the dash? Most of the installers want to custom make a kit from some material that looks like #@#!! If no kit is available, any suggestions on how to make a kit that matches and looks good?

 

I had mine done and it looks exactly like stock. But it's pricey. LIke $600. But if you are interested PM me and I can give you the contact info.

 

I've been tyring to find someplace that would do it, but every place is a rip off. 600 is more than my head unit cost. I'd rather make the piece myself out of plastic that matches the dash. If anyone knows a cheaper place please PM me.

Don't mean to suggest Ron from www.streeteffectz.com too much, but his prices are VERY reasonable, and he can almost do anything you need.

My installer is waiting for this kit to be delivered for my new HU.

He said it should arrive this week.

As for the $$$'s ... I don't know yet. It's (kit) an overall part of a complete system re-do. I'll try to find out later today how much just the kit is worth.

if you want to do it the cheap way and have it look like the factory texture and color.....take a piece of 1/4 in plexi or lexan and cut out the pattern you want and spray it flat black.... that will match the stock interior color....matter of a fact this is how ron@streeteffectz told me he does it...... and to mount it to the location you can either build some sort of legs on it like i did or you can glue it in there...... or what every your imagination can come up with..... but if i am not mistaken i think ron makes them for like $50 and trust me it is well worth the $50 to save yourself the hassle of cutting the plexi and panting it and so on.....
