Resetting Light

Is there a way to reset the maintenance light without going to the stealership or requiring a VAG COM tool?

May as well just tell him

With the engine turned off, hold the Select and Reset buttons. Start the engine and hold the buttons in for a few seconds till the light goes out.

I went to my local mechanic . . .asked him to reset . . .he danced on the keyboard and printed out a paper which wanted me to turn the key "on" (do not start car) hold both reset/select down for 10 seconds, and that would do it.

NOPE!

I did fine tune my outside air temp plus/minus 3 degrees! That was it.

So head home, sign on thos fourm, and well there ya go . . RESET and NEVER had to RTFM!
