Replacing stock amp

Well i went to a custom audio place nearby that has a reputation as being one of the best. The plan was going to be having them install Alpine Type S speakers in all my doors. After having him listen to my current set up he said that i would really be better off replacing the stock amplifier with an Alpine 4 channel model. He said that their would be a dramatic change in the way the stock speakers sounded just by being powered by a better amp. And that way i could hook up some Alpine Type S 6X9s in the rear deck and actually have them play mids and highs ( what a concept ). so i think that is what my next mod will be. he also said that he would install a crossover so that all the door speakers would not have to try and play low bass sounds and would only have to concentrate on mids and highs which makes sense. anyone have any feedback for me?

Makes sense to me Jigga - I got to all the wires back in there for my amp install in the trunk, but it would be difficult to rewire a whole new amp without doing some serious dismantling of the dash.

The car is so new, I just cant take it apart. A guy at a reputable shop around here tried to convince me to do the same thing, replace the amp with a new 75w x 4 JL amp, and add JL components in the doors. Sounds like a good idea, costs $700 though.

i was quoted $650 for a pair of Alpine Type S 6X9s, Alpine MRV F340 Amp, installation and any wiring kits that would be required to do the install.
