Replacing OEM tweeters
Replacing OEM tweeters
To those who have replaced their tweeters; did you have to cut off the OEM connector or is there an aftermarket connector available? The tweet connectors are different than the midbass connectors. Also, wire color code for the tweets so I know which is + & which is -. I have some Infinity 1001 tweters waiting to be installed. Any idea how to attach to exisiting grill, grills did not come with tweeters.

Those connectors are not the same as the tweeter connectors. The Crutchfield connectors will work with the mid-bass speakers but not the tweeters.

right tweeter + blk/red
right tweeter - pink/blk
left tweeter + blue/orange
left tweeter - gray/blue
You cannot use the stock grills without some modification (see pictures from thread below.) The tweeters I used came with grills, and all I had to do was some sanding of the mouting hole in the dash. Most likely, you will have to fabricate something custom or find a shop that has something close to the stock grill size.
