Replacing NAV/Door speaker depth in a 3.2 CL-S
I bought a 2001 3.2 CL-S and have been searching all the forums. It has NAV but I love my Kenwood DDX 7019 that I have in my Landcruiser and plan to get a 7100 for the CL.
I also have Infinity Perfect 6.1 and love them and have searched to find the depth available in the door to no avail.
The 6.5" perfects have a very beefy sub like basket that takes up a slew of space. I doubt they will fit into the door so I need to know if there is room to spacer them forward or if I need to seek a different speaker for my doors.
I plan to use a JL Audio e4300 to run the door & rear speakers and a 2ohm Kenwood 3000 watt amp for the JL 10" subs that will go in the trunk.
Does anyone know how to get the non NAV AC controls out of the stock NAV. I bought a non NAV upper dash and have the controls but the question is how to wire it in.
I found a thread about it but can't figure how the person wired it in & got the dash panel from where the NAV is in my car to fit in the lower area that the stock stereo is in now.
I ordered the Helms so I will hopefully have the diagrams needed for this job.
Thanks in advance and before you tell me to search I have been sercching for a week.

I'm hoping there are no replies because I did not show you what the speakers are like.
I Don't want to buy a set take the door off & find they are not going in.

Wow. Where to begin?
1) I have been HERE since almost three years before you. Who is the noob?
2) Can you read and retain what you read? I say twice I searched.
3) if you have nothing nice or productive to say why say anything?
4) If it is so easy for you to find the info why not be helpful and past that link?

I missed that you were searching. Based on people putting the Alpine Type-R speakers in (probably the most referred speaker, yes?) I would go off the depth of those. I found it to be 2 5/16". From what I read, the depth is pretty shallow, what is the mounting depth of the Perfect 6.5? That would be helpful, if it's more than 3"...
Looking at them, I would say that your going to at least use some spacers...Good Luck, you'll probably just have to try it and see what happens.
