Anyone who replaced the stock Sub, what did you do with the space? I have 2-12 inchers in my trunk, and will be wiring them up to a new alpine head unit, but I was wondering what to do with the space where the old sub was. I was thinking about getting 1 good sub and a custom install to place it in the place of the old sub, but I already have the other box. any creativity out there?

 

Do you have an '04? I just dropped in an 8" powered by an aftermarket amp. It works fine as a free-air woofer. Although, I am going to have to apply dynamat to the whole rear deck, as it rattles the hell out of it now.

 

Best case, you will still rattle your deck. Also you really are not going get much bass out of a free air sub in the deck...are you just looking for more truck space or what?

 

i am just open to suggestions. i have a box now with 2 twelves in an old legend, and just bought an 01 tl and wanted to think it trhough before i simply lose the trunk and waste the spot where the stock sub is now.

 

I took the stock sub out and it kept the rattling to a min. I would recommend that for sure.
