Repairing stereo wires.

hi,

Can anyone tell me how i go about repairing the wires behind my stock headunit. i made a total mess of them. firstly i was supposed to splice 5 wires but i ended up cutting them (didnt know they were supposed to be spliced). i somewhat corrected this problem and managed to get the rca converter connected to the wires. however i think i soldered through one of the wires and now the stereo doesnt work.

the wires are too short to work with. is there a kind of extension kit or something that is available for a 1996 3.2tl.

why would you solder those wires in the first place? there is no room to work with back there. i mean u may be able to get two wire kits and extend it that way. but its kinda worthless. if you could post a pic of what you did or something it would really help.

im assuming your trying to attach a rca connector so you can hook up an amp rite? in which case you would have only had to tap into 3 wires anyways. the two rear speakers and the blue remote. which 5 did you try to splice?

yup rca connecter... the five that i spliced were

Rear Left -
Rear Left +
Rear Right -
Rear Right +
Ground Wire
Also Remote In Wire to the Ignition wire i think.

The rca connecter had 5 wires sticking out of it to join to the above 5 mentioned and remote in to the amp.

I would have taken pics but know digicam
