once you remove the storage bin you can see the two screws that hold the not an ashtray in.

1) I don't understand your post. If you are asking about NOT AN ASHTRAY, there are two screws on the front (visible after you pull the big upper pocket) and two towards the rear (visible after you pull the center console shifet surround/cupholder). 4 total.

2) The center console panel that surrounds the shifter is hard to get out the first time, especially at the front end. The best technique is pretending that it's not your car.

Dan, what happened to the SHOND sticky? I posted instructions on removing that c/c panel in there a while back...

Center Console/cupholder removal:

If you have 6AT, take off shift knob.

If you have 5AT, I guess you could take it off, but I just put a baggie witha rubber band over it.

Put some blue masking tape on the passenger side inside of the interior-color console to the right of the aft cupholder. (The hinge of the cupholder sticks out to the right when the lid is open and will scratch the console. Close this lid as soon as you can in this process.)

Place your fingers inside the aft cupholder and press outward. Hard. Pull up.

The first time it is very hard to pull up. I am right handed, and I have trouble doing this from the pass side, but I can do it from the driver's side.

If you struggle, close your eyes and visualize that you are in someone else's car. Really.

Once you get the aft pops out, work your way forward. Pops all the way. the baggie on the shift knob comes in handy when you have to unplug the seat heater switches, as the inside of the shifter surround area could scratch your knob (having someone help you at this moment is best).

When you re-attach, remember the seat heater switches!

Top pocket removal:

Put blue tape on interior-color panels to sides of pocket.

Either
A) reach in with both hands, spread fingers to sides, press HARD, and pull, or
B) Pull the rubber pad off the back/bottom of the pocket and find the hole in the back. Insert a hook tool in the hole and pull.

Again, if you struggle, close your eyes and visualize that you are in someone else's car.

You will have to remove the light bulb from the top of the pocket (rotate 1/2 turn and pull out), and use a pair of needlenose pliers to press the Christmas-tree connector tabs together to release the cable tie on the back for the light bulb wiring harness.

NOT AN ASHTRAY removal:

Take out two screws. Rinse. Repeat. Drop NONE. Unplug cig plug and light.

Hey dude...Use this technique. This is how I did mine and I think Neochaser had success with this recently.

Once you remove your shift knob, start with the front putting your hands where the shift boot is and pull straight up. You'll hear the front clips release. Continue to do this from front to back. You'll have to put a lot of pressure to pull the console out for the first time.
