For stock radio you could take it to the radio fuse in the fuse panel

as long as you don't use too thin of a wire, the 12v remote trigger signal is not very strong, I've used speaker wire in the past and other random wires. Are you triggering off the stock head unit or an aftermarket?

im installing a new amp just to power my sub in the trunk. And keeping the original amp to power the speakers. Since the OEM amp is in the trunk already, i was wondering if i could just tap into the (white/yellow) radio switch... im getting my info from --->> http://web.archive.org/web/200307131...net/sound.html

also OEM head unit

i need help... ok so i wired up everythin correct. (ive installled a few simple amp & sub combos b4 but never with a LOC). I wired the battery to the amp, check. Ground to the gas pump covering, check (mayb that isnt metal).. remote wire conected to the radio fuse, check. LOC has 6 wires wired the + & - for RR and + & - RL wires on the LOC correctly to the amp wiring harness..maybe the 2 extra are ground wires? idk they werent mentioned in the instructions. RCA cables are ran from the LOC to the amp...and of course my amp wires from sub to the amp.

am i missing something?

seems as though im getting no power. Also the inline battery fuse is in place and all fuses have been checked..

any help much appreciated!!

Grab a DMM and start checking voltages. If you have DC voltage into the amp, then that's step 1 and your ground is good. Is your amp even coming on? If not, you need to check your amp's power and ground for 12+v DC, and the remote wire for roughly the same voltage (radio must be on for this to happen). Next check your amp's output. If you're getting AC voltage out, then you're in good shape. If not, check the loc for AC voltage on the RCA outs. For the RCA's put the positive lead on the inside of the RCA connection and the negative lead on the outside. My guess is you won't have anything there, based on your description, but I'm just guessing.

As for the LOC connections, I have no idea, never used one.

The remote wire is one of the yellow/white with silver dots on the cable that's connected to the stock bose amp. You need to tap into it. You gotta find out which one's the one where it's off when the car is off because there are 2 yellow/white with silver dot wires. I used a multimeter to find out. This is on my 2001 CL-S though.

I believe I had the same problem as you. You need a really good ground. In the trunk, there's that door that's from the seat. Below it is the flap or w/e of where all the plastic carpet crap is. Lift it up and you'll see a bolt with a black ground wire already connected to that. Unscrew it and sand the hole and around the bolt so that's it's clean. Then screw on your ground wire to that along with the previous ground wire that's already connected to that. Should work now. That's what I did.

Here's a photo of the bolt if you can't find it.

im using 16 guage speaker wire. i twisted both sides of the wire together and went from my rem wire on my stereo to the rem of the amp. it works great. you can go a little smaller with the wire but i wouldnt go any smaller than 18 guage. that should work great for you. hope it helps
