Remote Starter / Alarm Install

I know this is an Acura Forum but I'm hoping you can help me out.

My girl has a 97 Civic EX with the with the factory alarm (connected above factory deck) with keyless entry.

How do I can around that to install and aftermarket alarm/remote starter? Just unplug the alarm module above the facotry deck and leave it unpluged?

Also, what are the wire color codes for this vehicle?

You can actually use the factory remote for the Civic to trigger the remote start. For example.... If you want to start the car push "LOCK" twice. This is a pretty cool way to do it and it still allows you to have all of the keyless entry and alarm features from your factory remotes.

As for demanding the wire colors...

RED 10 gauge the the ignition column is 12v +

Install of any reputable vehicle security/ remote start product should always be installed by a professional. This will ensure that your product and your install are kept under full warranty. When I say "professional", I'm not speaking of Best Buy or Circuit City.

Good luck!
