remote start

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a remote start system and how much of a hassle is it to self install?

It all depends on what you are looking for. I have the Python 990 (remote start, alarm, keyless entry and AUX trunk release). Its great with the 2-way feedback on the remote. Depends how much you want to spend. If you think you can tackle the install you'll save yourself about 200 bucks. Decent system w/ install: $400. System w/self install. +/- $200.

Here is the wiring diagram for out car to install. Should give you an idea of what your in for:

I'm partial to Compustar alarms. However DEI alarms are really good too.

Whether you can do it yourself will really depend on your abilities. My first one took me quite a bit of time and was not a clean install. Just remember that you won't have any warranty from the manufacturer if you install it yourself. If a shop does it, then the system and installation should have a lifetime warranty behind it.

Also note that you will need a bypass module along with the remote start system.

Oh yeah I forgot about the bypass module! Good call. That is very important!
