i was just wondering if anyone has custom-mounted speakers inbetween the front seats & rear seats on the rear side panels next to where people sit in the back.

i personally think our cars can sound a whole lot better if we had more speakers. quite frankly, 4 speakers & 2 tweeters just don't cut it for me. i think there's a lot that needs to be filled inbetween the 6-1/2" & 6"x9" speakers.

my idea was to get a custom-mounted 4" component system on the rear side panels.

let me know what you guys think, i am very interested in hearing other's opinions on whether or not it is worth the money, sacrificing those panels which need to be cut, and the sound difference you'd expect.

I agree. However, mid-bass drivers behind the side panels would be nice since we have plenty of space there.

i don't think i understand what you mean by "behind" the rear side panels.

I meant we have plenty of room behind the panels so you can put customized housings for the mid-bass drivers or whatever speakers you plan to put in there.

I really dont think it's worth the effort. If you put tweeters there too then the back seat ppl are gonna have bleeding ears... and you wont really hear them much in front. Just replace the speakers in their stock locations. They are actually there for a reason.
