rear deck vibration reduction ideas....
okay i have two 12's that fire up, not my first choice of ported box but the 33" space we have in our trunk wasnt working out.
but the problem is when i get a good song on the subs fire directly at the rear deck and it rattles like a mother.
so i was thinking take the back seat out and all that crap and put either some kinda foam or rubber to put inbetween so it doesnt rattle as bad.
please let me kno what your thinking, and help will help.
thanks Azine family, zack

Has both good quality products and more importantly the EDUCATION you need to handle this. Basically you are hitting resonance of the materials and you need to change that.

Thanks eggy.
Sorry OP, I mis-spelled it.
Anyway, his name is Don. He's done a LOT of research regarding all of this jazz.
Regarding just slapping Dynamat on it...
That is CLD mat, man. One step of 3. Dynamat knows it, too. That's why they make a BUNCH of overpriced products to use in addition. But Dynamat isn't a good value at all.

zshortcut where in FL are you located? I have 3 10's facing up right under the deck and all I had to do was a a layer of FATMAT under the third brakelight and that fixed all of my rear deck rattles.

That looks sick bro, but I'm Feds not that handy. I was hoping I could find some cheap maybe half inch rubber and stick it between the deck and metal and it'd stop atleast 90%. Maybe I'm crazy lol

Just as a test try to wedge some cardboard under your third breaklight and see if that helps. If so then just get some cheap deadener (fatmat, peal and seal) from Ebay/local store.
on1wheel how much of the back deck did you cut out if at all? And I agree that looks sick. I would love to do that but I still enjoy my rear fill speakers.
