I just bought a brand new 2003 TL three days ago and I can't seem to get the stock in-dash 6-disc changer to randomly pick songs from more than one CD. Somebody please tell me I just haven't figured out the right button combinations to push! I can get it to play random songs from any one disc, but not all six at once? A six disc changer that acts like six single disc changers is a freaking joke!

 

I've had my 2002 TL for just over two years now and haven't been able to figure that out either. I guess it just isn't meant to be. Let me know if you find a way to randomly play tracks from more than one CD.

It doesn't play random across all 6 disks

 

I've had my TL-S for a month now and I haven't used the CD player yet. I just listen to talk radio. I haven't bought a CD in 7 years. I must be getting old.

 

Talk radio is about all the stock system is good for. If you started to play CDs, you would soon find yourself in the same boat as the rest of us trying to find various ways to improve on the marginal system.

Maybe you are the only one that will be truly satisfied with the sound?

But yes, the 6 CD changer is basically a joke. It jams on most CDRs with labels, it won't play certain CDRs at all, it even jams on store bought CDs and is not built tough enough to cycle randomly through the different discs as you were hoping. The ONLY good thing about the stock HU is that it does hold six CDs in the dash, and that is convenient... WHEN IT WORKS!

 

Bose should be ashamed to put their name and be associated with this system!!

 

Just remember Bose only makes the speakers and amps/EQs. Pioneer makes the head unit.

 

i think the head unit is awesome, initially i wanted a mp3 deck but due to complications and 2 much custom work i forgot about it, and i was so happy with the 6 disc in dash! plays all my cd-r's, get stuck on cd's with labels(when it gets stuck push it back in with another cd, does the trick!) sound quality was ****, i threw in 2 tens and it bumps now, stock door speakers still, sounds freakin awesome.i have a 2002 btw

 

Do you have any more info on how you hooked up the Sub/Amp?

I have a sub and amp and I'm not sure how to install it, I want to leave everything else stock -- for now.
