Radio 'EEE' Error

I have a 2002 TL Type-S with a factory Bose 6 disc changer and factory nav. I installed a USA Spec PA11-HON iPod integration unit and it worked fine for about 6 months. But lately I've been frequently getting a EEE error that stops giving power to the unit and it basically becomes useless for hours to days at a time. Does anyone have any idea why I might be receiving this error?

I had already tried disconnecting and reconnecting it a couple times. But I think I found the problem. The adapter kept shorting the headunit because of some exposed wiring which I'm pretty sure is from a design flaw. But I already went and replaced it out with a blitzsafe adapter and I haven't had the slightest problem since.
