Radio/Audio Settings

What combination of audio set up works best for you. By Audio setup I mean using stock radio and system, and adjusting bass, trebble, and Front/Rear, Left/Right. Any you guys find to be the best?

Take the fader forward 1 to 2 clicks.

Treble is really a function of how much HF hearing loss you have.

Experiment with the bass and treble until you discover that you just can't make these crappy speakers sound good, then give up and get aftermarket amp and speakers. : )

That leaves the volume control to manipulate midrange.

After I pulled out the tweets and looked at them yesterday, I was wondering why the system seemed to sound so bad. they looked like nice soft-dome 1" tweets - a bit under-magnet sized, but OK.

So I tried something I had not tried before (now that I have figured out from folks on this board that the factory by-nines are sub only and non-fading): I ran the fader all the way forward! 100%

Improved the sound dramatically (to me). Staging got better, of course, but I also thought that the sound improved. Perhaps those rear speakers suck? I still got plenty of output from the by-nines - as much as I would want them to play, anyway.

So, until I rip everything out, I am running the fader fully forward from here out.

My fiancee is not an audiophile at all... she's the classic example of a "music lover" who can enjoy music on any system.

She nver upgraded her 7-year-old Civic system! She hates it when I ask for her opinion on any audio experiment because she's convinced she can't hear the difference.

Anyway, she told me yesterday while we were driving that the voices sounded much clearer since we shoved the fader 100% forward. Anyone else willing to try this and report back?
