Radio 00' Model Help
Hey guys I know if anyone can help me its you guys... Ok so my CD player will only play CD's up until about the 8 track and then it just spins. I have tried everything from cleaning it to bringing it to Acura. Unfortunately Acura won't do anything for me under warranty. I have a 00' TL. I have been searching on Ebay and various other places. I have a Navigation system and do not want to screw up the sound and I was told that after market will screw it up. So I would like to stick with Acura brand but get the 6 in dash changer. My question is does anyone know if a 03' TL cd player will fit into my TL? Must that person as well have navigation and how do I keep my navigation functioning? Thank you for your help guys much appreciated...

Welcome!
yes, the 03 TL HeadUnit will fit in your 00TL. It is a direct swap, and you do not have to worry about the navigation. If you do plan on getting an aftermarket Head Unit there are ways of making sure the navi works, which i guess what they are talkn about is the "voice" that gets screwed up. But either way its your choice

From what ive read, you lose the the navi voice when you put an aftermarket HU in the car. Some people hate the voice anyways, so it doesnt matter. Others, like the voice and it can be fixed by adding a small speaker from the navi. StreetEffectz and others will know more about this, so im sure they will chime in when they get to this thread.
What are you looking for in your sound system? If you want better sound quality, then upgrading your headunit would be a good idea. I was thinking about getting an 03 HU as well (ive got an 00TL also) but figured taht with the amount of money im going to spend on that, i might as well just get an aftermarket headunit.
If you do plan on upgrading your headunit, all you need in addition to the new headunit is a Metra Dash kit, and a Wiring Harness.
