Question Radar Detector and Install

I searched this topic so don't yell. I would like to know if anyone has found any diffrence putting the detector up where the bubbles are by the rear view mirror? If so what? Can someone also post some pictures of the unit on the windshield and the remote unit, if you have 1, thanks. Just got a ticket today, so buying a Valentine 1.

From personal experience, the higher you mount your detector the better. But don't go too high or you will go into the blue tint in your windshield and that will reduce your range. I have a V1 hardwired and the concealed display mounted on top of the steering column. The install is very easy and I think someone from this board did a step by step installation too. Do a search for it.
