Quick MP3 Player install question on TLS
Quick MP3 Player install question on TLS
Guys,
I've read a lot about installing my mp3 player through the Blitzsafe adapter. According to the Blitzsafe info it takes the place of the CD changer in the wiring of the stock HU. The only problem with that is that I would like to keep my CD changer, too. But I don't care for the tape deck. Is there any way to connect it through the tape deck instead of the CD changer? I don't have a wiring diagram, so if anyone has one that might shed some light I would be most appreciative. I'm sure with that I could figure out the deal.
Thanks in advance!

I found a wiring harness here:

But it doesn't show anything about the inputs for the CD changer and the tape deck. I'd like to know what I'm getting into before opening it all up, so I would love you guys' help.
Thanks

I don't think you're going to be able to do what you're planning. (I mean you could use one of those cassette adapters, but I doubt you'd get great sound). The cassette unit is built in, so if you're planning on using that as a place to send in a preamp signal, I think it would involve taking the HU apart and soldering...
You could sell the OEM changer, put a 12-disk MP3 player in your trunk, and have some extra room in the dash to work with...
(I went with the JVC 12-disk MP3 changer, the Blitzsafe v1d adapter, and bypassed the RF modulator by tapping into the changer cable).

New Idea
Here's a thought...
I could tap my mp3 player into the Navi inputs on the HU. This way I could keep the CD Changer and also get rid of the Navi voice. Any ideas? I realize that the Navi normally only is heard on the front speakers, but maybe if I get rid of the mute then it'll be on all the speakers. This way I could have the mp3s playing without the stereo even on. I don't knwo what that would do to the overall setup, though

Have you checked out the PIE adapter? I'm no expert but from what I've been reading, the PIE will connect into the CD changer input and allow you to have the CD changer as well as three other AUX sources, like an MP3 player. Check out the PIE adapter for the Honda/Acura at http://www.myradiostore.us/auxadapte...r/x3hon98.html or at http://www.pie.net/ .
