Question.... PLEASE HELP ASAP!

I have my whole dash apart so immediate help is neccessary....

I just bypassed my equalizer and my system sound like ass. Is this normal? I'm using an aftermarket amps & a crossover but the fronts really really sound like crap now. Is the stock speaker or did I do something wrong?

I'm thinking about replacing them w/ good speakers but I want to make sure it's the speaker. It seems like the speakers lost all the depth in the sound. Would a nice aftermarket speaker correct this or did I do something wrong? How hard is it to remove the door panels and replace the speakers?

Brian

ok let me get this right.. you are using the stock headunit and an aftermarket amp to power the stock speakers... if so then yes they will sound like ****... i mean have you looked at those stock speakers.. and replacing the stock speakers with some aftermarket ones should remidy the problem..

I just replaced the front speakers today with a set of Focal 165V2 components. They made a bigger diffference than I thought. The tweeters are pretty easy to install in the factory location. The mids are more of a challenge in the doors.

If I were you I would forget about powering your factory speakers with an aftermarket amp. You really need to go with aftermarket speakers too.
