Does any one have experience with on-board battery chargers? I am planning to install a Schauer fully automatic On-Board Battery Charger. From what I can tell, I can simply plug this in when I go away on trips and it will keep my battery at the appropriate charge level. After my last experience with a dead battery when I went away for 10 days this seems like an easy solution. I am interested in any comments.

I've been doing this for years now. Not sure about the Schauer one but the one I got from Sears that can do all Jumpstart, quick charge and maintainance charge. I just plug it in 24x7 and leave it alone (in maintainance mode). I don't usually touch my hobby car for months at a time and it starts right up everytime.
