question bout a second battery
im gonna have to get another battery because im transferring my system outa my old car into my bros acura cl 3.0 99 and i was wondering if it was possible to have the battery in the trunk by the subs and sitll be able to run it to the alternator? thanks
yes its possible, just run some 4ga up to the alty...
make sure you get a battery that doesnt emitt fumes when it charges and such, otherwise you will die. the way around that is to make an enclousure for it and vent it to the exterior.

Whoa there guys. You need a battery isolator ($100+) to be able to charge two batteries, you can't just hook them up together.
Why do you want two batteries anyway? It's just a band aid for not having a large enough alternator.

Ok first, are you talking about bumping with the car on or off?
The battery doesn't (shouldn't!) do a damn thing while the car is on. What you need is a larger alternator. The battery can only supply ~12.5v, when you are is on the alternator provides ~14.4.
Now, with the car off - you'll drain the stock battery to the point where it won't start the car in about 5 mins. Two Optima Yellow Tops only gives you about 45 mins. Forget running that rig with the car off.
