Question about wiring....

i recently installed two neon lights in the driver and passanger foot wells.....i have them wired to a switch and everything works correctly, but they i realized you can turn the on even when the car is off b/c the are wired directly to the battery......my question is how should i wire them that they can only be turned on when the key is in also if i do leave them as they are will it drain my battery......thanks....-Tom

You can tap it the cigarette lighter's wire. It's only "hot" when the key is turned to ACC or ON

Ouch!

Remove wood side trims and center console. You should be able to see the wires going to the power outlet in the center console. Tap to those wires.

Here's an even better way to do it:

Run a wire to the radio fuse in the fuse box on the drivers side by your feet. Then they will come on when the radio does.
