Quality of Amp Rankings ?
Quality of Amp Rankings ?
Can someone Shoot me a little Primer on Amps and what to look for ? I need an Amp to Power one 12 Inch Sub ( MTX 8000 ).
I know there are plenty out there, and yes I do have a price range in mind, but for now if you could give me a few pointers on what to look for as far as quality.
And if you would like--and I know the rating is probably as subjective as can be--list your Rankings 1,2,3,4. For Quality.
Looking for amp in 400-800 Watt Range. Mono Preferably.

I have the same sub and you need tons of power!! Right now I have it hooked up to a '01 RF 360.2 with a cap. The amp is underrated at 360W RMS and the sub needs more more more. I would say the RMS should be al least 500W. Don't go by the stats for that sub and power the hell out of it!!!!!!!
hmmm
This is What concerns me. I'm not 17 anymore. I wanted more base. If I have to keep the thing Powered up and Rock my Windows I'll go Deaf before I'm 45 !

I hear you. Truthfully I would get a different sub. That sub needs a lot of power to sound good and really is made for heavy bass. If you want to keep it but not make your ears bleed, I would hook it up to a big amp and a crossover. That way you can at least control it a little better.
Difference between Class D Amp ?
Difference in Pre-Amp and Class D Amps ?
Looking at Kenwood 929 and MTX 6500D Amp
How do these differ other than Wattage ?
Non-Technical please
