putting 6X9s in enclosures?
putting 6X9s in enclosures?
does it serve any purpose to do this? I don't plan on getting a sub, so my bass will be coming solely from my 6x9s in the rear. Would building an enclosure for them be worth the money to see any improvement? BTW these are aftermarket 6X9s, not the stock ones... I got my car audio surprise coming in a couple weeks
are you making one enclosure and then putting both 6X9s into it??? what are your rear speakers at the current moment??? what type of improvement are you looking for because it will basically act as a full range box in your trunk this route...
maybe some of the pros on here can answer... SE, jonesi, eldud, etc?

No, 6x9 woofers are usually designed to work in a trunk, which "looks" like an infinitely large box to the woofer. Putting it in a smaller box actually filters out low bass and makes midrange/midbass unnaturally louder. Not good.
just what i wanted to hear.. i was just looking at a fiberglass tutorial and this guy made 6X9 enclosures for his 6X9s.. i didn't know if they really improved anything. BTW i am putting them where my stock 6X9s are right, not in my trunk. Thank you for the answers... Pictures coming soon of my little surprise
