preamp from factory harness (2003 TL help)
preamp from factory harness (2003 TL help)
I'm gonna do the stereo installation soon in dady's car and I'm having hard time figuring "wich is wich" wire in the factory harness (bose system, no navi). I'm looking at the wiring diagram to find left/right positive and negative preamp signal (not EQ'ed) as well as the subwoofer EQ'ed preamp signal pos/neg.
btw, is the orange wire in the bass amp harness called "radio switched power" a remote turn-on lead?
thank you very much.
p.s. if you want to send me diagram wich stuff circled and/or explanation, you can mail me at metallibiker@hotmail.com

there have been some circuit diagrams posted here before. if you do a quick search i'm certain they'll come up. i've been meaning to link them in my signature. i will do that tonight if i remember. what are you looking to install? an aftermarket sub/amp or an aftermarket headunit? because you don't really need to go through this for a headunit. if you're doing an amp/sub then do a member search using my name because i have participated in many conversations about this topic so i'm sure you can find the information you seek there.
i don't have the diagram in front of me but it will tell you which is the remote turn on to the amp behind the back seat.
i would stay away from using the EQ'ed bass signal. go with it before the EQ, it will sound better through an aftermarket amp if it has a good crossover. i am at work now but if i have some more time later i will go through and find the colors and diagrams. good luck.

What I want to do is install an aftermarket amp to drive aftermarket front components, and stock subwoofer for a while, if it can be done. I was thinking about getting the straight signal for speakers and same signal for the stock subwoofer amp use since i'll use the stock one. i'll use for sure the straight signal for the sub when i'll upgrade for an aftermarket subwoofer.
on the diagram I have in front of me, I can see orange wire on the B3 cavity beign left input of the EQ, and blue/green beign the right. I assume they are main signal, but where do I pick the ground?
