Power source in TSX trunk?
Power source in TSX trunk?
Where is a good 12v power source in the trunk of a 2004 TSX? Or if anybody has the wiring diagram for the trunk? I need it to power Dom's nav converter and an amplified antenna. Any help will greatly be appreciated. Thanks.
i would find an unused slot in the inside fusebox and run a sufficiently thick gauge of wire along the sill to the trunk for power. easier, no diagrams nor tools needed except for a circuit tester and you're not tapping onto something else!
don't you need a switched/ignition lead as well???

I was looking to tap the front cig lighter for a couple of things -- what do you do, pull up the center console around the shifter, remove the "not an ashtray", then splice into the wire near the plug? (That's what I'm planning as soon as I buy some crimp splicing thingies.) I hate removing that center piece...
I was also toying with the idea of adding some additional blue LED lighting... what would be good to tap into? There's a small light at the top of the other pocket... I imagine you can't draw too much from that circuit, but I hope a few LEDs are OK. :-) (I'm still not sure I want to go ahead with this. It'd be nice to have a switch because it might get a bit old...)

In a couple of other threads, there's a photo of a "tap a fuse" type connector, where you can add a fuse and draw power from the fuse box. That might be a better way to do it, if you can find a power source that is switched at the same point that you want it. I may try that first, as it sounds like a cleaner solution. I'm sure I can find something that is switched on with the car, and hopefully there's something that switches on with the lights as well. (Of course, running the wire across under the dash, I'll make sure it is out of the way and secure.)
