Just corresponded with Ron, that piece won't work. His exact words:

"As for that rgb adapter, that really won’t work because RGB for say computer monitors is different in the car going to lcd screens."

Yes, but some DVD players to have component outputs. But I guess it's a mute point now.

you guys might want to try implementing the composite to RGB conponents in the pioneer gex-p7000tv. It's built-in for that unit.

i was gonna get a hold of a gex service manual to see what had to be done, but my friend was able to hook me up with an avcrgb1, so i never got around to doing it. but if anyone else out there is feeling motivated enough, and able to cough up 200 bucks for the unit, and another 30 for the service manual, they should try it. I'm pretty sure it will work.
