poor sound quality

Just bought a an '02 TL-S (my first car ) and it came with a jvc player in the deck in place of the original 6-cd changer. i'm happy because it has an aux input and usb slot etc... but when i play music... the quality is awful. i mean its somewhat decent but even the sound in my moms old '94 civic was better.
Is the poor quality because of the player or because of the speakers? Because i have my old panasonic player from the civic and want to replace the jvc one with it, but i'm not sure if it's the player that's causing the poor quality.

Thanks.

its probably the speakers. you should check the wiring because whoever did it might of not done a good job on it or maybe some wires got loose. either you check it if you know wat to look for or take it to a Professional. you should also check the custom settings on the cd player.

And this thread is really detailed on the audio side of things https://acurazine.com/forums/audio-video-electronics-navigation-22/%2A%2Aaudio-video-diy-info-faq-all-models-%2A%2A-299065/
