Please recommend an amp

Im not really sure what happened, but I upgraded my speakers, and somehow downgraded in sound. I got a deck, the pioneer deh p30001, and soon after one of my dooe speakers popped. After that happened, I decided to buy all new speakers for my car. Bad mistake. After coming on here and reading about all types of speakers I went with the Polk DB's in the door and some pioneer speakers in the back. I dont remember the exact speakers but I know they were nice, they have 85 watts rms. Anyways, I got everything hooked up and it sounds terrible, well not terrible, but nothing compared to the stock rear speakers. Why? The stock ones picked up ALOT more bass, and it was smoother sounding too. Now it sounds like the speakers are going to pop when i listen to some songs. And i played with the settings on the HU, and got it to sound ok, but again not as good as it was.

I talked to a couple people, and they told me I needed an amp. So ok, I guess i am going to buy one now to hopefully get what I paid for out of the speakers. So please recommend me an amp. I'm guessing I want a 4 channel, and Im looking to spend around 150, or 100 on ebay. Let me know what I should do.

Also I have a one channel rockford fosgate amp from when I had subs, its the punch 301m and handles 900 watts. Im going to put it up on ebay so if anyone needs it let me know...

If you aren't looking to spend to much on an amp go to http://cardiscountstereos.com/Amplifiers.asp and check out what they got. Good luck.

You don't need an amp for those speakers. The original factory speakers were full-range, whereas almost all replacement speakers are mids. What you need is to get a subwoofer with an amp, and a high-pass filter for the cabin speakers, and a low-pass filter for the sub (the sub amp should have it). I personally don't like Kicker stuff, but that's just me and for the price, they're pretty good.

I like RF amps because they tend to have a clear, but warm sound. If you don't have rear passengers often then you might want to go with just the front satellites and then use your budget for a more powerful/better 2 channel amp.

Sorry, didn't read all the way before. If you want sound quality one configuration would be to run just front speakers (components would have been nice for kick panel install of tweeters and midwoofers in stock location, but Polk DBs should be Okay) off a 2channel amp of maybe 75 clean watts/channel and use your RF 301 to power a sub. Should sound good and get reasonably loud. Make sure you adjust your highpass to your Polks and lowpass to your sub to get the bass and articulation you want.

I had a MTX class D 1500watt with 2 15s in the old TL, it was insane. When the lows hit I thought the trunk would pop off. I miss that. Now I just have an eclipse amp with a MTX 10". Gets me by but nothing good by any means...just enough to at least get a BOSE sound out of the 1st gen.
