Playability of CD-Rs?
Playability of CD-Rs?
Just got a 2000 TL on Friday. Pretty sold stock sound system even though I've never been known to approve of stock systems. That said, I was having problems playing burnt CD's or CD-Rs. Is it just me??
Secondly, anyone actually change the "stock" sub on the rear deck? Do you know if it's an 8" or 10"??
Thnx

Not sure about the size of the sub, but you should try knocking your burn-speed down to 16x (or less) when you create your cd-r's. The design of the laser in most stock (and aftermarket) head units is different than what you'll find in most computers. Most head units are designed to handle the average cd that has been stamped with data, by folks like Sony, and such. Not too many can handle cheap-ass cd-r's that were burned at 48x. Since I started burning mine @ 16x, I've had no problems. Oh!, and use name brand media as well....
