plastic spacer with Alpine S 6X9's?

I just got a pair of alpine type s sps-69C2's to replace my 6X9 in the rear of my tsx. The alpine speakers come with some sort of plastic spacer. Should i use this, or ditch it and just screw the speakers directly into the rear deck just like the stock ones were? Will the grill even fit with the spacer in?

So the verdict is to screw them in directly into the spaces where the original oem's were using the same oem screws?

You don't need them. I don't believe they'll fit anyway. I suggest you tape some weather strip around the speakers before you drop them in.

Underneath the edges in order to provide some dampening from the vibrations?

Also, I was going to home depot to pick some up of the weather stripping. What kind am I looking for? The sticky back kind or something else?
