Pioneer AVIC-X710BT and FH-P8000BT

Hi Folks,

Wondering if anyone has had any experiences with either of these Pioneer decks. I'm looking to replace the stock 6-disc changer in a 2003CL and would prefer to leave the stock speakers and amp, so would really love to hear from anyone who has done that with either of these units. Any input on the decks would be great though.

Cheers & Thanks,
Brian

I have the AVIC F90BT. It's nearly identical to the X910BT. I've done a little review here on the forums, but you can check out avic411.com for more info on the X series.

My F90BT should be here by Tuesday. It'll work fine with the stock '03 CL-S system right?

You should be perfectly fine if you install it right.

Any info on how to install it right? Since the factory HU is also a Pioneer, is it just plug and play?

To install, you need a harness made for your car. Attach that to the factory harness from the car. Then all you do is match the colors from the new HU's harness (it should come with one) to the harness that you connected to the factory one. Hope that makes sense.

And no the TL/CL factory HU is made by Bose. Not really plug and play, but pretty much simple and straight forward.

I went to Fry's and got this harness and did the install

but there seems to be static on the speakers. Been reading around and it seems like a problem with the amp in the HU and the stock amp. Seems like there is a different harness that I was supposed to use, and the Fry's people gave me the wrong one. Is this one the right one I'm supposed to use? Thanks.

The Metra site says that it will work with the factory amp going through the pre-outs. So that should solve the static problem right?
