I am considering buying this the first week of June but wanted some opinions. I will basically use it for the Navi but wanted to know what everyones experiences have been.

i am interested in an N1 also. looks hot as hell. i called a car audio place around my way. the guy told me the only thing bad about it was that since it was an all in one unit, if you wanted to use the navi, you would have to put the disc in everytime... that would drive me crazy. but is it true?

Yeah I think that is tru but if it is a location you have been to before it will store that in memory for your trip.

I wonder if you could hook up a cheap external DVD drive to it to play movies and keep the navi DVD in the main drive.

I know you can hook up reverse cameras and other stuff to it.

I'm definitely doing this, waiting for the prices to go down a little.

Hey MarcS, maybe we can get a hookup price if we get two of them.

Make that three. Best thing I have seen is 1700 on ebay. Tweeter wants 1999.99 and then 150 to hook up the dvd and then 150 to hook up the navi. Even though it is the same device!

Overall installing a In-Dash tv isn't that difficult.. I had never done one before and knew nothing about them and I finished mine in a few hours..

From the manual:

Memory navigation
The navigation system can memorise a certain amount of information up to the set destination. The navigation system continues to operate even when you remove the map disc, allowing you to play a CD or DVD while using the navigation. (If the destination is particularly distant, you may need to set the map disc again.)

I know there is a cd changer that is compatiable so that would solve my problem. good and bad I guess.

vsokolov,

Are you an authorized dealer? What's the address of your place?

I'm still waiting to hear if this thing will play burned CD audio on a DVD (I guess that makes it DVD Audio?). I got the mp3s covered with my Neo, but some music just has to be CD quality for me to enjoy it. 100+ songs on a single DVD would enable me to get rid of the stock 6 disc changer. (No, I don't want to buy an aftermarket changer and hook it up to the Avic).

Any idea why Pioneer says you aren't?

Dear

The dealer which you've specified is not on our list of authorized dealers.
Please understand our warranty terms if you plan to purchase from Mobile Electronics of NY.

Thank you for your interest in Pioneer products

Because you should ask when they updated the database last time, if you go online and look the only authorized dealers there are p.c. richard and son stores, which dont even sell pioneer no more. You wont find anyone else maybe Best Buy.

Sorry to hijack the thread.

vsokolov, are you an Alpine dealer as well? If so, I was wondering if you could obtain the following part. Supposedly it is sold in Europe only. I am contemplating whether I should get the the IVA-D900 for my C32. TIA.

KCE-860B (Interface for Mercedes C-Class, C-Sportcoupe)
This Interface works only for the actual Mercedes C-Class, C-Sportcoupe, CLK and also CLK, E-Class up to MY02.
Plugs directly in the Iso Connector. No additional cables required.
This interface will not work in combination with Speed-Control
